About This Site

This is a plan for a Geography unit. This unit attempts to teach students how to use online mapping software (Google Maps) to learn about the world. I want to show them that they can use this amazing resource for everything from finding directions to learning about how people live their lives.

This is a work in progress, so it will change as I think of new ideas and get feedback. I have tried to include examples of student work when possible.

This "blog" is meant to fulfill the guidelines of a Unit Plan assignment in a class called "Teaching in the Secondary Schools. " The class is taught by Barbara Elvecrog at Hamline University in St. Paul, MN.
